The Department of Home Affairs Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO) allows you to confirm your visa status. It allows visa holders, employers, education providers and other organisations to check visa conditions.
The type of visa you’re issued when visiting Australia depends on factors such as the purpose of your visit, or how long you’re wanting to stay. If you’d like to check your visa details and conditions, you can do this online through Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO).
You may not have a searchable record if you migrated to Australia before 1990 and have not since travelled out of Australia. In that case you may then need to apply for an electronic visa record.
You can access VEVO at the website shown.

Another very easy option is to download myVEVO, which is a is a mobile app available to download for free. The app provides a fast and convenient way to check your Australian visa work rights, study rights, travel conditions and expiry date.
The first time you use myVEVO, you will need your:
- date of birth
- passport details
- visa Grant Number or Transaction Reference Number (TRN)
You can use VEVO to send proof of your visa conditions to others, for example, employers, landlords or the government of a country you would like to visit.
Once you’re in the VEVO system you can view all your visa information, such as:
- how many hours you’re allowed to work
- how many times you’re able to enter and leave Australia
- whether you’re on a permanent or temporary visa
- whether there are any restrictions or limitations on your visa
- when the visa expires.
Keystone Visa and Migration Service can assist you in determining your visa status.
